MOTHER'S DAY COMPLAINTS

"Fairfax Media is aware of nearly a hundred complaints lodged against Ready Flowers to a consumer protection body since 2012 - nearly half related to non-delivery and the rest related to late delivery, poor quality and refund delays.

Online flower retailers are taking a sizeable commission on floral deliveries and leaving consumers worse off, says Joh Dickens, president of the Professional Florists Association of NSW.

 A NSW Fair Trading spokeswoman said: "[We are] liaising with other ACL regulators to determine potential action under the ACL [Australian Consumer Law]."

 She said since January 2015, Fair Trading had been hit with 177 complaints about flowers and florists, most in relation to quality of the floral arrangements and non-delivery of orders."

Online florist, Ready Flowers bungled its same-day delivery guarantee, causing uproar as Australian consumers took to online forums and social media sites to voice their bitter disappointment.

The issue was further compounded when, after the brand’s Facebook Page was inundated with complaints, Ready Flowers decided to block all further posts."

A florist who wishes to remain anonymous has told me that he received and performed consumer orders from  Ready Flowers Hong Kong of monthly amounts approaching $8,000, now totalling $50,000
